Avani Bentota is set in eight acres of lush frangipanis and coconut palms by the golden sands of Bentota. This hotel evokes an old-world feeling as it is themed on an 18th Century style Dutch village and was designed and landscaped by renowned architect Geoffrey Bawa. The spacious resort grounds and architectural design create an atmosphere of calm relaxation with a fusion of colonial and contemporary. Guests can enjoy a range of facilities and amenities including a swimming pool and spa and there is also a water sports centre nearby. The main restaurant serves both Sri Lankan and continental cuisine and the Beach Bar is the perfect place to enjoy a refreshing cocktail. Avani Bentota offers an exotic holiday romance or peaceful reflection.
The hotel serves a variety of cuisine to suit every palette at their two Restaurants and 3 Bars which also includes a wine cellar, and guests could even 'Dine by Design' where they could dine at any location of their choice at the hotel, and even ask the in-house chefs to tailor-make the menu's depending on what they are in the mood for.
Guests can relax and rejuvenate in the specialty Spa with a variety of therapies to choose from or stretch their muscles at the hotel's gym or in one of the two swimming pools facing the sea. The hotel is located in close proximity to the traditional Mask factory in Ambalangoda, the famous Turtle hatchery in Kosgoda and the renowned old Dutch Fort in Galle which are popular tourist destinations and ideal for those looking to explore the locality. The more adventurous guests could partake in a wide-range of watersports ranging from jet-skiing to riding a banana boat on the nearby Bentara river.
Good place to relax and just take it easy. Staff were excellent and plenty of them. Given the prices for flights these days the price for the hotel was very good. who ever said on trip advisor it was a long walk from their room to the dining room wants shooting. !! Cheers

Magnificently rising like no other hotel ever built; individuality, striking design and excitement are the cornerstones of everything at this amazing hotel. No expense has been spared to make this spectacular building one of the world's most desirable holiday destinations for business or leisure. With a truly breathtaking location set half on land and half on water, overlooking the marina and positioned on the Yas Marina Circuit, Host to the Formula 1⢠Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, you have never seen another hotel quite so uniquely distinctive, inside and out.
The Yas Hotel embodies everything that is exciting about modern and contemporary design. From the outside, the incredible LED colour changing gridshell will be seen for miles around and mimics the throw of a local fishing net, whilst the architecture embraces the environment perfectly based on the ergonomics and speedlines of high performance cars and yachts. This concept continues throughout the hotel and influences everything, from the furniture in the perfectly appointed 499 rooms and suites to the striking interiors of the 13 food and beverage outlets and Conference and Events facilities. Situated on the Yas Marina, Yas Marina Circuit and a short distance to the first 18-hole links golf course in the region, the recreation on Yas Island is as impressive as the 10 treatment room spa, gym and rooftop swimming pools. Put simply, whether inside or out, The Yas Hotel will set your heart racing.
Nice hotel although not the best 5* hotel we've stayed in UAE. Could polish on customer service, staff look tired and some didn't greet or smile. Breakfast spread was excellent, hotel was very close to Ferrari World, Yas Waterpark and Airport but half an hour from city centre. The free shuttle...
