Quintana Roo in Mexico celebrates 101,000 hotel rooms

The province of Quintana Roo in Mexico is now home to more than 100,000 hotel rooms. The state has the largest tourism infrastructure in the country, with the majority of hotels in the tourist destinations of Cancun and the Riviera Maya. According to the Director of the Tourism Promotion Council of Quintana Roo another 3,000 hotel rooms are expected to be added to the region by next year.

Beloved Playa Mujeres resort in Mexico announces week-long wellness retreat

Luxury resort Beloved Playa Mujeres will host a Wellness Week for guests this August following the success of the first two editions of the program. The small all-inclusive Mexican beach hotel will hold special events such as Mayan Awakening Rituals and carnivals, as well as featuring daily yoga and meditation, creative workshops, outdoor activities and healthy food.

Riviera Nayarit in Mexico Records Successful Growth in Tourism Sector

The Riviera Nayarit region in Mexico is proving to be one of the country’s fastest-growing tourist destinations. Last year, the region generated almost $200 million in revenue from tourism, and hotel occupancy levels averaged at 80 percent. Several new properties have opened in the area, including the Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta and the Grand Sirenis Matlali Hills Resort & Spa.

Viceroy Los Cabos Hotel Opens to Guests in Mexico

The LA-based Viceroy Hotel Group has launched a new luxury hotel in Mexico. The Viceroy Los Cabos is the 15th hotel to join the group’s collection, and it is located on the beachfront in the heart of San Jose del Cabos. The upscale property has 194 guest rooms, suites and villas, as well as redesigned facilities including new restaurants, new beachfront pool and bar, and a modern fitness centre.

Montage Los Cabos and The Hacienda Hilton Puerto Vallarta are Mexico’s newest west coast resorts

Two new beach resorts have opened on Mexico’s Pacific seaboard. The Hacienda adds a new adults-only dimension to the existing Hilton Puerto Vallarta resort, while the new luxury Montage Los Cabos hotel fronts onto one of the Baja California Peninsula’s best swimming and snorkelling beaches.

Riu Palace Costa Mujeres resort under construction in Mexico

Riu Hotels has announced that construction has started on a new all-inclusive hotel in Mexico. The Spanish hotel group has started work on the new Riu Palace Costa Mujeres, which will sit next to the recently opened Hotel Riu Dunamar in the Quintana Roo province. The new beachfront resort will have 670 guest rooms, as well as six restaurants and bars, six pools, a spa and a fitness centre.
