Puerto Vallarta looks set to receive another record-breaking year in tourism

Puerto Vallarta’s tourism industry is looking set to welcome a record-breaking year after receiving its highest ever number of tourists in the first six months of 2017. According to the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board, the resort city in Mexico has recorded a six per cent rise in hotel occupancy during this period, and international passenger arrivals have increased by 12 per cent.

Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya hosts glitzy World Travel Awards Latin America Ceremony 2017

The World Travel Awards hosted its Latin America Ceremony 2017 this weekend at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya in Mexico. The glitzy awards ceremony celebrated the best of the best in the region’s travel industry, and it was attended by hospitality leaders and government officials, and was compered by Mexican host Max Villegas from E! Entertainment Television and Estilo DF.

Adults-only Temptation Cancun Resort reopens following refurbishment project

Temptation Cancun Resort has reopened its doors to guests following an extensive renovation programme and rebuild. The design of the adults-only resort in Mexico was led by Canadian designer Karim Rashid, and the property has 430 guest rooms and suites that feature “sensual minimalism” style and bright colours and boast private balconies and terraces.

Two Palladium resorts in Riviera Maya recognised as leading family-friendly hotels

Palladium Hotels & Resorts has announced that its properties in the Riviera Maya in Mexico have been recognised by Family Vacation Critic, TripAdvisor’s family travel site. Grand Palladium Colonial Resort & Spa and the Grand Palladium Kantenah Resort & Spa have both been given a rating of 4+ for the magazine’s editorial team, and 75 per cent of family reviewers gave the resorts a 4+ review.

AC Hotel Guadalajara Expo Debuts in Mexico

The AC Hotel Guadalajara Expo recently opened in central Guadalajara. The hotel is affiliated with Fibra Inn, a Mexican trust developed to bring business hotels to the country. Quintana Roo in Mexico is one step closer to reaching 100,000 hotel rooms

The popular state of Quintana Roo in Mexico is nearing its 100,000th guest room milestone. The tourist destination currently has 97,606 guest rooms in its variety of hotels and resorts, and a further eight hotel projects are currently under development or about to start, bringing new properties to the regions of Cancun, Mayan Riviera, Isla Mujeres, Holbox, Bacalar and Mahahual.

Paradisus Cancun unveils its refurbished Royal Service Ocean View Suites and Lounge

Paradisus by Melia has completed an extensive refurbishment programme of accommodation and facilities at Paradisus Cancun. The $2.6 million renovation project transformed the 135 Royal Service Ocean View Suites, which now all have views of the sea, and an upgraded the Royal Service Lounge at the luxury hotel. Plans to introduce new Royal Service Lagoon View Suites are planned for this December.

Cancun set for another successful tourism year with new hotels, expansions and events

After the success of 2016 and record-breaking visitor number, Cancun is celebrating further growth this year in its tourism industry. Over the next few months, the coastal region in Mexico will open another five hotels with at least 2,300 guest rooms, renovate several existing hotels and resorts, expand its international airport, and host a number of music and food festivals.

Mexico becomes world’s eighth most popular tourist destination in UNWTO report

Mexico has become the eighth most popular tourist destination in the world, according to UNWTO. The country recorded 35 million visitors in 2016, which was a nine per cent increase in international arrivals. Mexico is expected to reach the top five rankings soon after the number of visitors since 2012 has increased by 50 per cent. The most popular locations include Cancun, the Riviera Maya, Los Cabos, and Puerto Vallarta.

Adults-only Temptation Cancun Resort in Mexico to reopen in Autumn, 2017

The Temptation Cancun Resort will reopen its doors this autumn, following an extensive renovation programme. Redesigned by Karim Rashid, the adults-only resort in Mexico has 428 guest rooms with balconies or terraces located over the building’s seven floors, plus facilities including eight gourmet restaurants, five bars, a full-service spa, and two swimming pools.
