Horseback Riding in Trelawny at Braco Stables

Duration: Half Day

Horseback Riding in Trelawny at Braco Stables

There are many ways to explore the beautiful Caribbean island of Jamaica, but horseback riding has to be one of the most memorable. Braco Stables offers a range of idyllic trail rides for both beginners and experienced riders, providing fun for all the family. This two-hour tour will lead you through scenic countryside and along the spectacular northern coastline on a journey of discovery in paradise.

Horse riding in Jamaica is an exhilarating way to observe the island’s natural beauty from a different perspective as you venture off the beaten track and explore some of the most scenic landscapes in the Caribbean. Your equestrian adventure will begin from Braco Stables on the Braco Estate in the parish of Trelawny. This grand estate was a successful sugar plantation in the 18th century, and also produced food crops, pimento and lumber. The original building that housed the factory still stands here (Braco Great House), but was later restored and modern features were added.

Your tour will commence after the trained guides have selected a horse to suit your riding ability. Once you are saddled up, you will ride through beautiful countryside, passing local farmlands on the way. Your friendly, humorous guide will tell interesting stories and facts about the scenery, flora and history of the island, keeping you entertained throughout your journey. Learn about the old abandoned airstrip, which was built during the Second World War and later used for the smuggling of marijuana “ganja”.

Your trail continues down to the shores of the North Coast, where you are greeted by a beautiful, private beach. Here you will have the opportunity to canter across pristine white sands, and swim and ride bareback on your horse in the warm turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Get your camera ready for some great photo opportunities. Your tour concludes at the Braco Great House poolside, surrounded by exotic vegetation such as pimento trees, bougainvillea and fishtail palms.

Relax with a refreshing complimentary drink and listen to the songs of the hummingbirds as they flit between the orchids. Not to be missed, this idyllic day in paradise is a must during your holiday in Jamaica. The breathtaking scenery, culture and diversity of this adventure will stay with you for a lifetime.
