Real Taste of Port Antonio

Duration: 12 Hours

real taste of port antonio

Get lost in an atmosphere of sheer seclusion and charming surroundings at a well-hidden spot in one of Jamaica’s most exclusive little towns. Come and explore Port Antonio and get a real taste of this village’s most breathtaking sites and striking places!  Spend a whole day in this and take delight in the simple ways of life of this rural town where time has stood still for generations. Little of the lifestyle has changed through the years

We begin with a scenic drive along Jamaica’s north coast to enjoy a bird’s eye of Noel Coward’s beloved ‘Firefly’ where he lived, chose to be buried and still peacefully rests. Get a glimpse of this beautiful and Eden-like place where the author found inspiration to write some of his best plays. This was also the location chosen to create the 007 James Bond series. Be taken away by the authentic Jamaican vibe breathed here while we pass through quaint rural villages and banana plantations.

Our next stop will be at Somerset Falls where you will be able to enjoy a refreshing dive for a swim in the river or enjoy a gentle and short boat ride through the hidden waterfalls. The first thing that you will notice upon entering the tranquil setting of Somerset Falls is the vibrancy of its many colours and the abundance of exotic birds and tropical flowers that spring up everywhere  as you travel along the riverside path toward the top of the falls. Prepare to start a journey into another world as the beauty of the nature-made Bridal Veil Falls take your breath away and you enter into the cave of the hidden falls. Enjoy a waterfall massage, a thrilling dive off the rocks or just a relaxing swim. In short; experience tranquillity, beauty and adventure all at once in one single and breathtaking location.

We then journey the most famous place in Port Antonio as we enter a new world of wonder at the mysterious Blue Lagoon. Legend has that the lagoons is bottomless and home to a dragon that resides hidden in its depths.  In truth however, what you will find is the most enchanting turquoise spot of deep waters plus a freshwater spring and a well known restaurant. A country-style lunch will be provided and served at the Blue Lagoon’s restaurant where you can eat your food from a dish made out of banana leaves and savour your food as you take delight in contemplating the tranquil scenery.

After your delicious dining experience you will be given some free time to relax at Frenchman’s Cove, one of the Caribbean’s prettiest beaches. Considered as one of the most beautiful in the world; this charming beach is part of a 45 acre private estate that is complete with a fresh water stream. With the classic beauty of this paradise island beach it’s no wonder this is the preferred location for weddings, honeymoons and special romantic retreats and escapades.  Enjoy your time here as you watch the local anglers catch some fish, be a little adventurous and swim out to the cliffs or just take the opportunity to sunbathe as you lie in the pristine white sand. A glorious way to end this most paradisiacal of all excursions!
