Join us for an incredible full day expedition along Jamaica’s scenic north coast. An entire day of non-stop adventure where you’ll be taken to see quaint little fishing towns, explore the place where Columbus first landed and stop for a delightful shopping experience at Ocho Rios. And if all this doesn’t sound like enough to get you excited we have yet another surprise to make your day even more memorable. For the last experience of the day you’ll be taken to enjoy Jamaica’s No.1 attraction; the famous and breathtakingly beautiful Dunn’s River Falls!

We begin this thrilling day trip with our first top at Falmouth, a picturesque fishing village that during the 19th century was one of the busiest ports in Jamaica. Founded in 1769 and being named after the birthplace of Sir William Trelawny in Falmouth, Cornwall; this village is noted for being one of the Caribbean’s best preserved historic towns. After our brief passing through this village we continue towards yet another relic of a town.

Our next stop will be at Discovery Bay; the place said to be the one where Columbus first landed in Jamaica back in 1494. Whilst on your time here you will visit other historical sites such as the Green Grotto Caves where you can find relics of the native Taino Arawak Amerindians and the Columbus Park which is a reminder of this village being the first place discovered in Jamaica.

Our coastal ride will then take us downtown for a shopping stop in Ocho Rios offering you the perfect introduction to Jamaica-style shopping. You’ll find an array of market stalls selling all kinds of local crafts. There are two main craft parks: the ‘Ocho Rios Craft Park’ and the ‘Olde Market’. The first is situated opposite the Ocean Village Shopping Centre and has more than 150 vendors selling everything from sandals and woodcarvings to paintings and straw woods. The second park of Olde Market is located nearby and also has plenty of handmade goods. Indulge in some leisure time to find the nicest souvenirs to take home and have some fun haggling with the vendors for the best prices and the most incredible bargains!

And then we’re off to take you to the real treat of the day, our best surprise awaits you at Dunn’s River Falls; Jamaica’s No.1 attraction in the most spectacular setting you could imagine! Described as an incredible living phenomenon and the pride of all Jamaicans; a visit to these amazing waterfalls will truly be the highlight of the day! Climb through the waterfalls ’ 600 feet of limestone steps and rock formations as water cascades all the way down past you and over you, majestically splashing into the ocean below. Make a few stops during your way up to enjoy some gentle bathing at some of the cool naturally formed pools. Once you get to the top you will feel amazingly refreshed and invigorated. No doubt this will be the experience of a lifetime!

Visitor arrivals in Jamaica up by five per cent in first nine months of 2016

Jamaica has recorded a 5.4 per cent increase in tourist arrivals during the first nine months of 2016. The latest figures from the Jamaica Tourist Board reveal that the Caribbean island received 2,876,220 visitors during this period, and gross foreign exchange earnings was also up by five per cent. The country also received a positive rise in travellers from Canada, with a 7.2 per cent increase.

Chief Executive of Sandals Resorts International awarded Order of Distinction in Jamaica

Adam Stewart, the Chief Executive of Sandals Resorts International, has been awarded the Order of Distinction (Commander Class) by the government of Jamaica. During the National Honours and Awards Ceremony at King’s House last month, Stewart was given the award for his outstanding services to the tourism and hotel industry in Jamaica. Sandals Resorts owns and operates a collection of luxury all-inclusive resorts throughout Jamaica and the Caribbean.

Sandals Royal Caribbean in Jamaica to add 12 more Overwater Bungalows

The popularity of the brand new overwater bungalows at Sandals Royal Caribbean resort in Montego Bay has been so great that Sandals Resorts has announced plans to construct a further 12 to keep up with demand. The first five unique bungalows with glass floors in Jamaica have not yet opened to the public, and will be the first of their kind in the Caribbean. The resort will add 12 more that are scheduled to open in February, 2017.
