River Tubing - Grenada Adventure

Duration: Half Day

River Tubing - Grenada Adventure

If you are looking for an adventure to remember during your holiday in Grenada, this exhilarating river tubing tour down the beautiful Balthazar River is an experience not to miss. Take in the spectacular scenery as you float through the rainforest, looking out for native wildlife on the way. This natural water slide is great fun for all.

Departing from the town of St George’s, Grenada’s capital, your tour begins with a 45 scenic minute drive through the hilly interior of the Grand Etang Rainforest Reserve, or along the breathtaking Atlantic east coastline depending on the tour route, to the beautiful Balthazar Estate in the parish of St Andrew’s. After an introduction and safety briefing from experienced guides, your safety helmet and life jacket will be fitted in preparation for an exhilarating river tubing adventure down the scenic Balthazar River.

Climbing into a giant inflatable ring, you will launch off from the river banks accompanied by expert guides, who will help you stay on course as you gently spin and swirl in the gentle river currents before riding more exhilarating rapids further down the river. Depending on the time of year and the amount of water coming from the mountains, the ride can vary from meek and mild to wet and wild so you won’t know what to expect until the day!. Although every safety measure is taken, tubers must be eight years of age or older and in good physical condition for the trip.

Admire the unspoilt scenery as you meander through the tranquil Balthazar Estate, floating past rocks and lush tropical rainforest which is inhabited by an abundance of endemic birds, animals and insects. Colourful, exotic birds; monkeys, lizards and frogs are just some of the creatures you may spot on your journey. Along the way you will stop in the natural pools to catch your breath, and at the last pool you can relax and take a refreshing swim in the crystal clear waters.

After all that excitement, enjoy a delicious rum punch or glass of fresh fruit juice back at base before making the return journey back to St George’s. This memorable eco adventure in paradise will leave you and your family with some wonderful memories of Grenada’s hidden natural treasures.
