Duration: Full Day
The Dominican Republic’s Ocean World Adventure Park is a one-of-a-kind marina, animal interaction park and casino entertainment complex, which offers its visitors an exhilarating day of fun and adventure in paradise. Swim with dolphins, meet the tigers, explore the rainforest or enjoy a Las Vegas-style tropical cabaret show. This is a unique experience that the whole family will love.
Located on the north shore of the Dominican Republic in Playa Cofresi, just three miles from Puerto Plata, Ocean World Adventure Park is a playground for both children and adults. If you have a boat you can sail into the park’s very own marina, which offers state-of-the-art facilities and can accommodate vessels up to 250-feet. It has also been appointed a port of entry by the Dominican Republic government, complete with immigration and customs facilities. Once ashore, you will be overwhelmed by the vast range of activities to choose from in this 35-acre complex.
Ocean World Adventure Park is no ordinary adventure park. Here, you don’t just observe the animals; you interact with them through a series of exciting programmes. Swim with the dolphins in the largest man made dolphin habitat in the world, make friends with the sea lions, pet the sharks and stingrays, and swim face to face with tigers. You can also snorkel amongst vibrant tropical reefs, which are teeming with brightly-coloured exotic fish of all shapes and sizes. Animal shows are available throughout the day, so you can pick and choose what you see. Watch the beautiful bottlenose dolphins entertain the crowd with their playful acrobatics and join in the fun as you hand-feed hungry sharks.
Afterwards, stroll through the tropical rainforest and immerse yourself in the sounds and smells of the jungle. Cross beautiful rivers and cascading waterfalls, and look out for a myriad of colourful tropical birds flying above you. These are all wonderful experiences not to be missed. If you want to capture the memories, photos and DVDs of your adventures are available for you to buy as you leave.
A selection of exciting themed restaurants is available on the complex, offering a great choice of tasty cuisine such as fresh fish, burgers and salads in a fun environment. Both adults and kids will love the poolside Octopus bar and grill, with its beautiful aquatic mosaics and sweeping waterfront views. If you are looking for something more romantic, dine in the elegant Poseidon restaurant as the sun goes down, savouring the taste of delicious gourmet food. The restaurant features a nautical architectural theme and boasts panoramic views of the waterfront pool and marina.
To round the evening off, dance the night away in the Lighthouse Lounge & Disco or try your luck in the Caribbean's most glamorous new aquatic-themed casino. The whole family will love Bravissimo, an elaborate, Las Vegas-style stage show. Exotic dancers will take you on an enchanted journey throughout the Caribbean as they express themselves through rhythm, dance and colour, enhanced by state-of-the-art sound and lighting. A once in a lifetime experience, Ocean World Adventure Park will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your holiday in the Dominican Republic.
