Outriggers

Duration: Half Day

outriggers

This half day outrigger tour is an ideal way to explore the Pacific coastline during your holiday in Costa Rica, one of the most stunning and bio-diverse areas of the world.

Outrigger canoes were first designed as a tool for travel and survival. Today, their basic design is the generally the same − the beauty lying in their simplicity and functionality. On this tour you can sit back and enjoy a relaxing cruise, as the steering is done by the experts. Paddle past beautiful cliffs and observe the local Costa Rican wildlife along the way. Look out for frigate birds and pelicans, and many other species. Eventually you will land on secluded beaches where you have the opportunity to hike, swim and snorkel in the clear, calm waters. Make the most of your surroundings in one of the most beautiful parts of the world.

The main difference between the outrigger canoeing tour and the sea kayaking tour is that kayaks have capacity for one or two people whereas outriggers can accommodate eight people. Incredibly stable, comfortable and easy to paddle, outrigger canoeing is suitable for a wide variety of age groups and physical abilities. No experience or special skills are necessary, so this tour can be enjoyed by everyone.

Length of Tour: Half Day
What to bring: sun block, swimsuit, towel, sandals and camera.
