Sea Kayaking

Duration: Half Day

sea kayaking

If you dream of taking a holiday in Costa Rica, images of a tropical paradise spring to mind – clear waters and glorious, sweeping white-sand beaches. This half-day sea kayaking tour will turn your dream into reality as you get the opportunity to take advantage of one of Costa Rica’s most beautiful and natural features: the ocean.

After a short drive to a secluded beach, and a brief safety talk on sea kayaking and equipment by your qualified instructor, your adventure on the open water begins. Watch frigate birds and pelicans as they glide overhead, whilst you paddle leisurely along the spectacular Pacific coastline. Sea kayaking enables you to gain a closer look at marine life below the ocean’s surface, as well as coastal life above it. See deserted islands and look out for sea turtles, dolphins, porpoise, exotic fish and other wonderful species.

No experience is required for sea kayaking. It is much easier than river kayaking, so there is no need to worry if you haven’t tried the sport before.

Eventually you will land on a deserted palm-fringed beach, where you can swim in the warm azure waters or relax on white sands and soak up the sun. You will also have the opportunity to do some snorkelling and explore the stunning coral reefs, which vary in size and colour. Look out for colourful tropical fish, including parrot fish, puffer fish, angelfish, butterfly fish, needle fish and damsel fish. Discover a whole new underwater world, which is rich in biodiversity, and marvel at beautiful life forms such as sea anemones, starfish, seahorses, octopuses and many more. This Costa Rican tour is a must for nature lovers in and out of the water.

Length of tour: Half day.
What to bring: Sun block, swimsuit, sandals, towel, camera and hat.
