Pacuare River Rafting
Duration: Half Day
If you are looking for fun and adventure on your holiday in Costa Rica, and fancy getting off the beaten track, a white water rafting tour on the Pacuare River will be hard to beat.
Offering an abundance of wildlife, breathtaking scenery and 18 miles of class III and IV rapids, the Pacuare is one of the best rivers in the world for white water rafting. Bordering the Talamanca mountain range, this beautiful tropical river winds its way through one of Costa Rica’s most impressive canyons, taking you through virgin rainforest, and serene pools; squeezing through narrow openings between huge boulders; past steep, towering gorges and crystal clear waterfalls cascading from the cliffs.
The rapids are suitable for both beginners and experienced rafters, but not for young children (Class III-IV). The minimum age is 14 years. Enjoy the ultimate adrenaline rush and plenty of fun working in a team as you raft down these exhilarating rapids.
For those hoping to get close to nature on the way, there is plenty of calmer water to float along on your journey, enabling you to sit back, relax and enjoy the native wildlife and stunning scenery surrounding you. The lush jungle is home to an incredible variety of wildlife species, including jaguars, ocelots, monkeys, sloths, herons, toucans, butterflies, a myriad of colourful tropical bird species, stunning flora and many more.
Fly down these powerful rapids and enjoy one of the best white water rafting experiences in the world. What to bring: Sun block, swimsuit, rubber shoes or tennis shoes, towel and a change of clothes and shoes. Length of tour: Full day.
