Reventazon River Rafting

Duration: Half Day

reventazon river rafting

For anyone seeking thrills and adventure on their holiday in Costa Rica, this is the tour for you. Both new and more experienced white water rafters will love this trip on the Reventazon River in Costa Rica, where the pounding rapids combine with beautiful, lush riverside scenery and spectacular wildlife.

Located in the Central Highlands region of Costa Rica, the Reventazón River, also known as Parismina River or Rio Parismina, is 145km long and gathers its large volume of water from the rugged terrains of the Cordillera de Talamanca. Rising in Meseta Central, the river meanders through the Turrialba, Reventazón and Orosí Valleys, eventually flowing into the Caribbean sea. The Reventazón River also flows through the village of Parismina, from where it gets it alternate name by the local people.

The white waters of the river are divided up into different sections, depending on the class of rapids, and can be found all the way to Siquirres. This particular rafting trip will take you on some of the fastest and most exciting Class III and IV rapids in Costa Rica. Prepare to get drenched!

Aside from all the fun and excitement on the big waves, you can also relax and enjoy the breathtaking views of the Reventazón Valley, passing through beautiful rainforest and lowland tropical forest on the way. Look out for a fantastic variety of riverside wildlife on the banks, amongst the lush tropical vegetation. You will often see toucans, kingfishers, herons, iguanas, monkeys, tanagers and bright green Jesus Christ lizards here, and many more exotic native species.

Ideal for first-time paddlers, this is one of the safest and most enjoyable white water rafting trips in Costa Rica. Get ready to embark on one of the most exhilarating adventures of your life. What to bring: Sun block, swimsuit, rubber shoes or tennis shoes, towel and a change of clothes and shoes. Length of tour: Full day.
