Inbioparque

Duration: Half Day

inbioparque

Located in Santo Domingo de Heredia, INBioparque is a non-profit environmental theme park that aims to educate visitors and promote awareness of the world’s biodiversity and the importance of conserving our environment.

This sensory experience, set in 20 acres of botanical gardens and parkland, combines interpreted nature trails with multimedia technology, enabling visitors to experience living samples of Costa Rica's biodiversity, through four different ecosystems: tropical humid forest, tropical dry forest, Central Valley native forest and the Wetland.

Learn about our planets’ exciting biodiversity, along with research and development of new products, including medicines, cosmetics, and nutritional and agricultural products. Visitors will also learn about Costa Rica's conservation efforts and the creation of national parks, biological reserves and other protected areas which are vital to our environment.

A guided tour will take you to see and learn about all sorts of unique, local wildlife, including butterflies, three-toed sloths, white-tailed deer, iguanas, caimans, turtles, woodpeckers, hummingbirds, insects and many more. Permanent, live exhibits will also show you tarantulas, poison dart frogs, bullet ants, bees and other native species.

And don’t forget INBioparque’s lagoon, an underwater glass viewing station in the wetlands exhibit. See and learn all about the freshwater fish living in Costa Rica’s wetland. This interactive experience with nature will certainly teach you something about Costa Rica that you didn’t know before.

What to bring: Sun block, cool, comfortable clothes and shoes, camera and hat. Length of tour: Half day
