Crt Guanacaste Experience

Duration: Half Day

crt guanacaste experience

A holiday to Costa Rica wouldn’t be complete without a visit to the stunning province of Guanacaste. Located on the North Pacific side of Costa Rica, this lush region reveals numerous stunning beaches, tropical forests, volcanoes, mountain ranges and national parks to explore. This particular tour will take you to the transitional forest of Rincon de la Vieja National Park, one of the most beautiful and popular parks in the Guanacaste province.

Marvel at the dramatic views as you travel across the Guanacaste Mountain Range, through small villages and cattle ranches. Rincon de la Vieja National Park is home to a variety of diverse habitats, due to its intriguing combination of volcanic geological wonders and dry tropical forests. The main attraction of the park is the active Rincon de la Vieja Volcano, meaning “The Old Woman's Corner”, which comprises nine separate volcanic craters.

Santa Maria is the highest peak here, at 1916m above sea level. The lower slopes of the volcano can be explored along various trails that will lead you to hot sulphur springs, bubbling mud pools, volcanic lagoons, cloud forest, lakes and waterfalls. Here you can relax and enjoy the therapeutic properties of the thermal mineral mud and warm waters of the natural hot springs, surrounded by lush tropical scenery that is typical of this region.

More adventurous participants can discover the wonders of the tropical rainforest from a unique, bird’s-eye perspective, high in the forest canopy. Marvel at the amazing panoramic view below you as you fly safely along interconnecting zip lines, through the treetops and across eleven tree platforms. Observe jungle life at its best, without disturbing the trees, plants and animals around you.

See a variety of exotic flora and fauna in their natural habitats, including howler monkeys, white-faced monkeys, lizards, two-toed sloths, jaguars, crested guans, coatis, agoutis, colourful birds and many more native species. This exhilarating eco-adventure will give you a greater understanding and appreciation of this fascinating and wonderfully diverse ecosystem, whilst preserving it at the same time.

What to bring: cool comfortable clothes, tennis shoes, sun block, insect repellent, hat, binoculars and camera. Length of tour: Full day.
