Corobici River Floating

Duration: Half Day

corobici river floating

For those looking for unique experiences amidst the native wildlife during a holiday in Costa Rica, this peaceful Corobici River Floating jungle adventure tour is an ideal choice.

Although you will be rafting down the Corobici River (class I-II), the waters are gentle and there is no white water, so the trip is perfect for children, the elderly and for those who want to relax and observe the beautiful surrounding scenery and wildlife. There is no need to row as your guide will do that for you, but feel free to join in if you fancy a go! A friendly and knowledgeable local certified guide will give you instructions and brief you on safety procedures before you board the rubber raft, so you can enjoy the trip knowing that you are in safe hands.

The beautiful Corobici River originates from the Guanacaste mountain range, in the Guanacaste province of Costa Rica, and is one of the calmest, cleanest and freshest rivers in the country. Flowing from Lake Arenal, which lies at the base of the active Arenal Volcano, the river meanders into dense tropical forest, through open pastures, fields and mangrove forests on the way, and into the Pacific lowlands before it reaches the Gulf of Nicoya on the Pacific coast.

Observe the beautiful, lush vegetation along the river banks, which are lined with ceiba, palm and mahogany trees, as well as the fascinating, large Guanacaste trees − the national tree of Costa Rica. Nature lovers can see and learn about a huge diversity of tropical wildlife, which thrive in natural habitats in and around the river − particularly as the river passes close to Palo Verde National Park.

This area is one of Costa Rica's most beautiful and bountiful natural habitats, giving visitors a unique opportunity to see the spectacular flora and fauna that Costa Rica is so famous for. Howler and white-faced monkeys, iguanas, sloths, otters, butterflies, racoons, crocodiles, Jesus Christ lizards and numerous colourful, exotic birds are just some of the species that you will be privileged enough to find here. Bird lovers will also be in their element as kingfishers, silver-throated herons, ospreys, motmots, toucans, egrets, parrots, cormorants and many other native and migrant species can be spotted here.

The Corobici River Floating adventure is the calmest rafting trip available in Costa Rica, so is a fantastic experience for all the family.

What to bring: cool comfortable clothes (t-shirt and shorts are recommended), tennis shoes or sandals, sun block, insect repellent, hat, binoculars and camera. Length of tour: Full day.
