Tenorio River Pozo Azul Seccion Class Ii - Iv

Duration: Half Day

tenorio river pozo azul seccion class ii - iv

If you are looking for a fast, challenging adventure on your holiday in Costa Rica, white water rafting on the Tenorio River will be hard to beat. Located in the heart of the Guanacaste province in Costa Rica, the Tenorio River is the ideal setting to test your white water rafting skills on the exhilarating class III and IV rapids.

The Tenorio River rises near Tenorio Volcano, which lies in the Guanacaste mountain range. At this point it becomes a fast moving river that provides sections of pounding rapids along the way, which are extremely popular for white water rafting. The Pozo Azul section of the river is a must for the more experienced rafter. The irregular and moderate, but complex, waves on the class III rapids turn into intense and powerful, but predictable, class IV rapids. Prepare for a challenge and test your courage as you plunge, twist, turn and drop down 15 miles of intense, fast-moving rapids, which include the "Rock", "Straight to the Cave", "Chutas Rapid" and "Double Drop". Hold and tight and prepare to get wet!

In addition to this exciting white water river rafting trip, the ideal location of the Tenorio River offers numerous opportunities to enjoy the breathtaking surrounding nature, carrying you to new heights of excitement and adventure. The Tenorio River is a place of natural beauty, set amidst a unique blend of dry and rain forest that hosts an abundance of native wildlife. Iguanas, monkeys, egrets, herons, butterflies and numerous birds, amphibians and reptiles can be found within the trees and along the river banks.

One of the main attractions of this river is a drop of almost 10ft (Class IV). However, it is important to note that to be able to do this drop, as well as the more intense rapids, must depend on the desired intensity of the tour.

What to bring: Swim suit and comfortable wearing clothes, rubber sole shoes, a complete change of clothes and towel; sun block, sunglasses and baseball cap or hat.
Length of Tour: Full day
