Cayman Islands to submit proposal for new $150 million cruise pier

The government of the Cayman Islands is planning to construct a brand new $150 million cruise ship pier. The government must issue a RFP (requests for proposals) for its development by March, 2017, and an engineering consultant has already carried out an environmental impact assessment. The cruise facility is planned for George Town Harbour in the capital on the island of Grand Cayman.

Design Architects revealed for new mixed-use resort in Cayman Islands

TEN Arquitectos have revealed the design of a new $250 million mixed-use luxury resort in the Cayman Islands. The resort is being built at St James Point in Grand Cayman by Beach Bay Land Limited on 16 acres, and will include a 1,000-foot private beach, a hotel with 200 guest rooms and 90 residential units.

Interval International adds Morritt's Grand Resort in Cayman Islands to its portfolio

Interval International has announced that it has added the Morritt's Grand Resort in the Cayman Islands to its portfolio. The resort will be located on a white sand beach on Grand Cayman next to Morritt's Tortuga Club, another Interval affiliate, and it will be designated an Interval International Premier Resort.

Cayman Islands Awarded 156 TripAdvisor Certificates in 2014

The Cayman Islands has received 156 TripAdvisor tourism awards this year, just one less award than 2013. The Caribbean islands received certificates for popular attractions such as the Seven Mile Beach, the underwater Kittiwake wreck and Stingray City, and local businesses including restaurants, hotels and diving shops were also honoured.

New $360 million mixed-use development in Cayman Islands set to break ground in Spring, 2014

A brand new $360 million mixed-use development will be breaking ground in the Cayman Islands in the Caribbean in the spring this year. The development will be located on the East End of the island of Grand Cayman and will feature a resort for tourists taking Cayman Islands holidays, residential community, shops and an Arnold Palmer signature golf course.

Sandals Resorts sets sights on new all inclusive resorts in Aruba and Grand Cayman

The CEO of Sandals Resort International, Adam Stewart, has announced the company has its sight on Grand Cayman in the Cayman Islands and Aruba for new Caribbean hotels. Speaking at a press night for the 2014 Caribbean Travel Marketplace, Stewart said that the hotel chain is also considering expansion to Mexico but there are islands in the Caribbean they would like to be in first.
