P&O Cruise to become first British cruise line to offer same-sex weddings at sea

P&O Cruises has made history recently after becoming the first British cruise line to offer same sex weddings at sea. The first wedding ceremony will take place on the island of Azura in the Caribbean in January, 2018, after a Supreme Court ruled that same sex marriages are now legal in Bermuda, where the majority of P&O’s ships are registered. The wedding next year will be conducted by the ship’s captain.

Carnival's new ship to set sail for Bermuda

Carnival Cruise Line's largest ship to date is set to make its maiden voyage in the spring of 2018. Carnival Horizon, the second ship in its Vista line, will begin its career between Barcelona and New York before transitioning to a permanent base in Miami. From there, Horizon will make regular trips to Bermuda for six- and eight-night voyages.

Ritz-Carlton to open Ritz-Carlton Reserve Resort in Bermuda

Ritz-Carlton has announced it will open a new luxury hotel in Bermuda in 2018. The Ritz-Carlton Reserve will be situated on a site boasting 2.5 miles of sandy shoreline and will operate under a management agreement with George's Bay Hotel Ltd and George's Bay Residences. The property will be the second Ritz-Carlton Reserve hotel to open in the Caribbean.

Bermuda launches Proper Rewards summer promotion

Holidaymakers visiting Bermuda this summer will be rewarded with £100 credit towards activities and hotel amenities thanks to a new promotion. The "Proper Rewards" promotion is available at 12 participating hotels on the Caribbean island and guests staying in them can spend their awarded credit on activities such as golf, massages at spas, scuba diving lessons, and deep sea fishing.

Rosewood Tucker's Point in Bermuda receives 2014 Green Globe Recertification

Rosewood Tucker's Point in Bermuda has received the coveted Green Globe Certification once again. The property is the only one in the Rosewood Hotels and Resorts portfolio and the only hotel in Bermuda to be awarded the certificate and some of its initiatives include a $600,000 wastewater treatment plant, $100,000 solar hot water plant and solar cars on property.

Tourism Minister announced plans for new hotel and casino in St George's, Bermuda

The Tourism Minister of Bermuda, Shawn Crockwell, has announced that a new 348-room resort and casino will be built on the former Club Med site in St George's. The property will be constructed by the Desarrollos Hotelco Group and according to Crockwell, it will be managed by a "high-end luxury" hotel brand.

Bermuda Ranks Eighth on TripAdvisor's list of Most Affordable Caribbean Destinations

Bermuda has been ranked as the eighth most affordable Caribbean destination for U.S travellers by TripAdvisor.com. The travel site compared the price of holiday destinations in the Caribbean for a family of four for one week in March and April and included flights, accommodation, dinner and a snorkelling trip.

Casinos could be coming to Bermuda hotels if bill is passed by parliament

Bermuda is planning to allow casino gambling take place in hotels on the island once a bill is passed by Parliament. According to Tourism Minister, Shawn Crockwell, the casinos will not be stand alone facilities but they will be part of the nation's hotels and locals and tourists will be allowed to gamble.

New independent Tourism Authority announced for Bermuda

The Caribbean island nation of Bermuda will have a new independent Tourism Authority after plans to scrap the government-run Department of Tourism were announced. The move is part of the Tourism Plan which was launched in 2012 in a bid to bring the island's tourism industry back to life and encourage more tourists to book and visit Bermuda.
