Atlantis Submarine

Duration: Half Day

atlantis submarine

Located in the tropics between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, the stunning coral island of Barbados is a place of natural beauty – both in and out of the water – renowned for its glorious white-sand beaches, crystal clear turquoise waters and colourful coral reefs, which offer fantastic snorkelling and scuba diving opportunities.

However, you may prefer to discover the beauty of the native marine life up close without getting wet. This award-winning tour will enable you to do just that: explore the spectacular underwater world of the Caribbean Sea via the Atlantis Submarine, the most technologically advanced passenger submarines in the world, and enjoy one of the most breathtaking adventures in Barbados.

After a warm welcome and a quick safety briefing, you can sit back and relax in air-conditioned comfort as the Atlantis Submarine takes you down into the sparkling Caribbean ocean from depths of 50 - 150ft. There are large viewing portholes for every seat, so you won’t miss a thing. Marvel at the hidden beauty and mystery of life under the sea, where spectacular colourful coral reefs and sponges, weird and wonderful marine plants and schools of exotic tropical fish surround you. Get up close to this treasure trove of marine life without getting wet!

An experienced and knowledgeable co-pilot will navigate you through this captivating, interactive voyage, identifying the different tropical species, answering questions and explaining the fascinating aquatic eco-systems around you. You will see an amazing range of coral on the ocean floor, including Boulder Brain Coral, Boulder Star Coral, Pillar Coral and Yellow Pencil Coral.

This tour is an ideal way to gain an insight into the value and importance of coral reefs and their conservation in Barbados and all over the world. Coral reefs are the most valuable marine habitats in the Caribbean, and in numerous countries throughout the world, providing homes, protection and shelter to an abundance of fish species and other inhabitants.

Aside from coral, you can also observe a myriad of other wonderful underwater life forms on the trip, such as the Giant Pink Tipped Anemone, Magnificent Feather Duster tube worms, Green Turtles, Spotted Moral Eels, Stingrays, sharks and many more. Before returning to the surface, the submarine will descend to 150ft to reveal a mysterious sunken shipwreck, which was previously viewed only by scuba divers.

The friendly and professional crew will go out of their way to ensure that you have amazing experience during the tour, with plenty of wonderful memories to take away with you. This unique and unforgettable undersea voyage is a must-do during your holiday in Barbados.
