Miami-based cruise line, Royal Caribbean International has recently announced an ambitious investment of over £100 million for its Perfect Day Island Collection, a series of exclusive private island destinations across the globe. As part of this project, CocoCay Island in the Bahamas will undergo an extensive renovation; transformations will comprise a water park, beach club and even a helium balloon. Upgrades are expected to be complete by 2019.
Princess Cruises has announced the completion of its refurbishment project at the Princess Cays private island in the Caribbean. The tourist resort is located on the southern tip of Eleuthera in The Bahamas and boasts a 40-acre beach, refurbished beach bungalows, and a new marina which has a new channel and turning basin which can accommodate large vessels.
The Baha Mar mega-resort in the Bahamas has announced it is looking to employ a Chief Flamingo Officer. The luxury resort is looking for someone to work alongside its chief scientist to look after a flock of pink and orange flamingos that are expected to arrive in the near future. The new officer will be responsible for managing their diet, overseeing breeding programmes and educating hotel guests.
