Meet Antigua - Off-road Safari

Duration: Half Day

Meet Antigua - Off-road safari

Discover the ‘real Antigua’ on this exciting off-road safari through the rugged, wild countryside. This unforgettable tour will enable you to explore some of the most beautiful areas on the island, many of which are inaccessible to tour coaches and other vehicles. Tropical rainforest, local villages and historical sites will open your eyes to the culture and heritage of one of the Caribbean’s most beautiful islands.

Buckle up tightly and prepare for the adventure of a lifetime as you set off on a comfortable Land Rover through Antigua’s lush green countryside. These jeeps can handle the bumpy, rugged terrain with ease, so hold on and enjoy the ride! We meet up with the convoy of other jeeps at Martins Hill, which is high enough to offer magnificent views of both the sea and countryside. Get your camera ready for a perfect photo opportunity.

One of the highlights of the tour is driving through Antigua’s tropical rainforest. Immerse yourself in the sights, sounds and smells of the jungle as you drive under the dense forest canopy surrounded by lush vegetation. Look out for endemic birds, animals and flora on the way. If you want to stop and take photos at any point, your driver will be happy to oblige. We continue onwards through forested areas, where you will get the chance to see local villages and people on the way. Many of the small, humble huts sell fresh fruits such as pineapples, bananas and mangos. This is a great opportunity to gain an insight into the local rural culture.

Driving onwards, you can enjoy breathtaking views of the island as we near the coastline. Antigua’s sparkling turquoise waters and glorious white sandy beaches are the epitome of paradise. Relax under coconut palms whilst tucking into a sumptuous Caribbean lunch and cold beverages such as fruit punch, soft drinks or the famous island rum punch.

Afterwards, you will get the chance to see more spectacular scenery and historical sights as we continue our tour of the island. Your friendly, informative guide will keep you entertained with many facts and stories of island life and culture on the way, giving you plenty of memories to take away with you. This fun-filled day of adventure and exploration is a wonderful way to uncover the secrets of the island during your holiday in Antigua.
