Meet Antigua - Land and Sea
Duration: Half Day
Discover the breathtaking natural beauty of Antigua by land and sea on this unforgettable island adventure. Explore the south shores of the island by jeep before sailing along Antigua' West Coast aboard a stylish catamaran. Natural harbours, tropical forests, paradise beaches and snorkeling in crystalline waters are just some of the tour highlights.
Your tour of Antigua starts with an exhilarating 4x4 safari ride across the south side of the country. On the way, your informative local guide will reveal some of the most beautiful scenery and historical places on the island, including the picturesque Falmouth Harbour. This horseshoe-shaped natural harbour was used as the main British naval base in the 1700s.
Your guide will point out the native flora and fauna as we drive onwards through Fig Tree Drive, Antigua’s lush tropical rainforest. Don't expect to find real fig trees here, though, as ‘fig’ is the local name for bananas. The thick tropical vegetation and farmland is dotted with mango, banana and coconut groves, as well as shanty houses that sell fruits and homemade jams and sauces.
Beautiful churches and sugar mills can also be seen scattered throughout the countryside. This is a wonderful opportunity to immerse yourself in the island culture and meet the friendly local people. After stopping for refreshments, we drive along the beautiful southwest coast before reaching a pristine white sandy beach for rest and relaxation in paradise surroundings.
Next, we explore Antigua's West Coast from the sea after climbing aboard the Mystic Catamaran. Bask in the sun on deck with a rum punch as we glide across the sparkling turquoise waters of the Caribbean in style. Marvel at the spectacular views of Antigua’s calm western coastline as we pass pristine white sandy beaches, tranquil fishing villages and secluded bays.
Stopping on the way, you will get the chance to take a refreshing swim in the ocean or spend time snorkeling amongst the Caribbean’s majestic undersea world. Tropical fish, sea turtles, octopus, lobsters and starfish are just some of the creatures you are likely to see here. The colours and diversity of these warm tropical waters is breathtaking.
A sumptuous buffet lunch will be served during the cruise, accompanied by wine and an open bar on board. This memorable tour will undoubtedly be one of the highlights of your holiday in Antigua.
