Lazy Day Boat Trip and the Coloured Canyon

Duration: Full Day

lazy day boat trip and the coloured canyon

Get out and about in the great outdoors during your holiday in Egypt as you venture off the beaten track and explore Egypt’s wild and rugged natural beauty. Spend a relaxing but fun-filled day snorkeling in the Red Sea or discovering the spectacular colours and geological formations of the magnificent Coloured Canyon. The Sinai Peninsula offers a wealth of natural treasures just waiting to be explored.

The Lazy Day Boat Trip promises exactly what it states: a relaxing day cruising on the waters of the Red Sea, stopping on the way for you to swim and snorkel at three different locations on the Sinai Peninsula. From Sharm El Sheikh, you will make your way to one of the area’s best snorkeling sites, where you can explore the beauty and diversity of Egypt’s magical undersea world. Occupying part of the Great Rift Valley, the warm, crystal clear waters of the Red Sea are famous for hosting an incredible abundance of marine life, including over 1000 species of fish and 400 coral species.

In particular, the southern and eastern shores of the Sinai Peninsula offer incomparable dive sites. Some of the most spectacular reefs can be found around Tiran Island and Ras Mohamed National Park, Egypt’s first national marine park. The vivid colours of the coral reefs and gardens here will take your breath away, and these fragile ecosystems are teeming with some of the richest sea life in the world. Swim amongst schools of tropical fish of all sizes, shapes and colours, and also look out for sea turtles, jacks, snapper, moray eels, barracuda, starfish, octopus, blue-spotted rays, various shark species and a plethora of other fascinating marine creatures. After working an appetite, lunch and refreshments will be provided.

If trekking amidst Egypt’s wild and rugged landscapes appeals to you, why not explore the awe-inspiring Coloured Canyon in the Sinai Desert, one of the peninsula’s unique natural wonders and a popular safari destination. After reaching the desert by camel or jeep, visitors can proceed by foot through a maze of steep canyon walls, which have been sculpted by the natural elements over thousands of years. The dramatic rock formations range from sandstone, limestone and granite, with ever-changing patterns and hues of colours varying between yellow, red, purple, black and gold as a result of iron oxide and manganese. Take time to sit and absorb the dramatic beauty and tranquility of this magical place before heading back, stopping en-route at a hotel for lunch.

Afterwards, you will get the opportunity to wander through the streets of Nuweiba, a traditional fishing town on the coast of the Gulf of Aqaba, or relax and soak up the sun on its beautiful sandy beach. These memorable excursions are ideal for those looking for adventure and relaxation in an area of outstanding natural beauty.
