Top all inclusive resorts in Cuba, a quick holiday guide

Top all inclusive resorts in Cuba, a quick holiday guide

Cuba is renowned for its glorious beaches, stunning crystalline turquoise waters, soft and fine white powdery sands and the warm smile of its vibrant locals. The list of mesmerising attributes of this fascinating Caribbean island could go on and on.

Likewise, the country is home to an equally amazing list of good hotels and resorts and here I'm going to list what I consider to be the top all inclusive resorts in Cuba.

Depending on where you're planning to stay, as Cuba is not all about the endless miles of the 20-kilometre-long Varadero Beach (although up to this day Varadero continues to be the most popular beach resort in the island), there are plenty of other resorts and uninhabited keys that are just as pristine and gorgeous (if not more) and here I'm also going to talk about them and list the top all inclusive resorts in those less well-known but equally breathtaking locations in Cuba.

All inclusive resorts in Varadero

All inclusive resorts in Varadero

We'll start off with the most famous and most talked about of them all; the legendary beach resort of Varadero, located only 2 hours away from Cuba's capital city of Havana. It's well-known not only for its shallow turquoise waters but also for its trendy nightclubs, party atmosphere and vibrant nightlife.

Being the largest and oldest beach resort in the island, it has highest the number of hotels in Cuba, with a total of 57 set along 15 long miles of glistening sand. So when you go to Varadero you can expect there to be plenty of choice when it comes to accommodation, from truly cheap room-only villas and basic all inclusives to grand and impressive five-star resorts.

But we're not here to talk about the cheap end of hotels or to discuss the most affordable, we're here to introduce you to the best all inclusive resorts in Varadero and that's exactly what I'll do.

As Varadero has so many hotels I can't simply give you just one definitive single hotel that's clearly better than all the others, as such a strong opinion would be dependant on people's perceptions of what makes a Cuba holiday truly exceptional, and this will inevitably vary from person to person.

So, instead of declaring a single winner, I'm going to give you what we believe to be the top 3 all inclusive resorts in Varadero in terms of service quality, facilities, entertainment choices and popularity among travellers.

First up we have the recent winner of TripAdvisor's Travellers' Choice 2012 All Inclusive, the Iberostar Varadero Hotel. Highly rated by travellers worldwide this stunning five-star all inclusive resort is hard to fault.

Not only does it enjoy a stunning layout surrounded by manicured gardens, panoramic freeform swimming pools and a massive lagoon sheltered by lush greenery; it also gives guests a fantastic set of dining choices with restaurants featuring fantastic views over a pond, a fountain, the gardens or the sea.

Great for families, couples and singles alike this fantastic resort has everything to accommodate every type of traveller and whatever your preferences you certainly won't be disappointed. With the amount of entertainment options and facilities it provides for guests of all ages it's no wonder TripAdvisor reviewers have positioned it in the top spot.

Then we have the Paradisus Varadero Resort and Spa and the Blau Varadero Hotel, both equally good five-star resorts offering premium services for top notch all inclusive holiday experiences in Varadero, Cuba.

All inclusive resorts in Guardalavaca

The list of best all inclusive hotels in Cuba continues with what's rapidly becoming Cuba's fastest growing beach resort, located in a far more secluded and serene area at the eastern end of the country. The quiet resort of Guardalavaca Beach in Holguin has lately been capturing the attention of travellers looking for a more low-key beach destination in Cuba, drawing honeymooners and families mostly.

So it didn't come as a surprise to anyone that the fabulous five-star all inclusive Paradisus Rio de Oro Resort and Spa earned the number 5 spot in the list of Top 25 All Inclusive Resorts in the Caribbean by Traveller's Choice 2012 , a distinction only 25 other resorts in the Caribbean enjoy.

Having enjoyed rave reviews time after time from pleasantly surprised travellers that have thoroughly enjoyed their time at this exceptional resort, this is the place in Cuba to enjoy truly royal service and is ideal for relaxing and romantic holidays in Cuba, with that added touch of extra pampering.

All inclusive resorts in Cayo Santa Maria and Cayo Guillermo

All inclusive resorts in Cayo Santa Maria and Cayo Guillermo

We will finish off by presenting you with fabulous all inclusive resorts at two of Cuba's most gorgeous keys; Cayo Santa Maria and Cayo Guillermo.

In Cayo Santa Maria we have the Melia Las Dunas, a top deluxe five-star resort that has for long enjoyed a strong reputation among travellers for delivering great service year after year. We would say without a doubt that this could well be the best all inclusive in this key but the recently-opened Melia Buena Vista (opened only a few months ago) is posing some serious competition and it may soon takeover as the best resort in Cayo Santa Maria.

The tiny and romantic key of Cayo Guillermo on the other hand has a clear winner; the Melia Cayo Guillermo, a beautifully secluded resort with years of success in giving guests impeccable service, outstanding facilities and unforgettable memories.
