There is another world out there

23 Articles in this collection

There are places around the globe that you hardly ever read of and rarely hear people talking about or if you do it’s because of negative press or controversial issues – not exactly the holiday destination most people think of. Be it for their remoteness, their apparently insignificant size, their notorious history, their political regime, extreme levels of poverty or peculiar culture, these are not the kind of places on people’s traditional bucket lists.

Yet there is a reason to seek them out and reveal the shining gems many of these remote corners of the world hide. Be it spectacular landscapes, awe-inspiring culture or unique lifestyle; these kinds of destinations promise the most eye-opening, unforgettable experiences one could ever imagine and they deserve to be discovered whilst still largely unknown to the throngs of tourists.

This is precisely what the travellers writing in this section of our post endeavour to do; to go out of their comfort zone and explore areas of the world that are little developed yet boast extreme levels of raw beauty and unique attractions found nowhere else on the planet. Find your inspiration for the remote and beautiful here.

This is why, on my upcoming trip to Thailand I'm planning to go beyond the coastal lure and discover more of the country's natural and cultural riches. Find out which Thai destinations made it to the top of my list.
