A once sleepy fishermen town, Jumeirah is now an exciting and exotic playground for tourists around the world. The glitzy high-rise buildings, large resorts, pristine white-sand beaches, warm azure waters, adventure sports and massive shopping malls are what push thrill-seekers and beach lovers to go on Jumeirah Beach holidays.

On the south eastern shore of the Persian Gulf, is the gorgeous manmade white-sand Jumeirah Beach. This stretch, which gets its name from the surrounding Jumeirah district, boasts crystal-clear waters and a majestic city backdrop – ideal for those after the best of both worlds. From the beach you can see ‘The World Archipelago’, a set of Dubai’s famous manmade islands, and parallel to this is the Palm Jumeirah – another manmade island resembling the shape of a palm tree. Both, the archipelago and the palm shaped island are best known for their posh apartments, glitzy hotels and spectacular restaurants.

Holidays to Jumeirah Beach are nothing short of luxury, with 5-star resorts such as The Atlantis, The Palm, FIVE Palm Jumeirah Dubai, Hilton Dubai Jumeirah, Jumeirah Beach Hotel, Rixos The Palm Dubai, Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort and many more gracing it’s shorefront. The iconic Burj Al Arab hotel, which is often considered as the world’s only 7-star hotel, is also situated here – and well worth a trip to the sky-scraping reservation deck! When you’re not lounging on the sand, visit the Wild Wadi Water Park, an award-winning attraction ideal for kids (big and small!), explore The Dubai Mall, go on a desert-safari, and indulge in first-class cuisine – with equally magnificent views.

    Wild Wadi Water Park

    Wild Wadi Water Park

The Wild Wadi Water Park in Jumeirah is unlike any other waterpark in the region, and whether you’ve got the kids in tow or not – it's a must-visit! Located opposite the Burj al Arab, this exciting park splashes out on over 30 high-adrenalin flumes and chutes, plus a plethora of additional attractions. Be sure to stay hydrated during your visit here, most of the rides are outdoors and queues could mean you’re standing in the heat.

    Sky Diving In Paradise

    Sky Diving In Paradise

A bucket list item for many tourists – sky diving is a popular high-adrenalin experience. If you want to do something wild during your holidays to Jumeirah Beach, check out the resort’s sky dive attraction which covers the famous Palm Jumeirah Island, The World Archipelago, The Dubai Marina and the impressive skyline of Dubai! Jumping out of a plane isn’t your cup of tea? Don’t worry. You can watch over safely while you sip on a cuppa (or something stronger) at the Sky Diving Café. Gear for sky dive and tutorials are offered at the café. Prices range from 150AED to 200AED for the entire package.

    Hop On A Dhow Boat

    Hop On A Dhow Boat

What’s the best way to view Jumeirah’s plethora of extravagant (and record-breaking) buildings all at once? By boat, of course. Soak up breath-taking views of both the city’s skyline and coastline when you hop on a traditional Dhow boat. Dhow Cruise Dubai and Dubai Marina Walk are the best places to tour from, while The Mussandam Sea Safari lets you take a dip in the Arabian Gulf! Prices for the boat ride vary from 50AED to 200AED.

    Jumeirah Mosque

    Jumeirah Mosque

A truly magnificent structure, the Jumeirah Mosque is one of the most photographed in the UAE. The mosque is one of the few that’s open to non-Muslims and offers an insight into Islam’s heritage. A must-visit landmark, the Jumeirah Mosque beckons you to adore its minarets and ornate details. The Sheikh Mohammed Centre for Cultural Understanding organises visits to the mosque, the tours of which last for around 75 minutes and can be booked from Saturday through Thursday.
