Crystal-clear Caribbean waters and miles of powder-white coastline have made Cancun into a world-class tropical holiday destination that's perfect for families and solo travellers alike. This Mexican paradise is the definition of holiday heaven – a perfect balance between relaxation and endless entertainment. Cancun's Hotel Zone and beaches offer amazing water sports, da
Travelling by bus is the easiest way of getting around the resort. A regular bus service runs throughout the day and it is a cheap option. Alternatively, taxis are in abundance, and while they can be a little expensive in the Hotel Zone, they’re more affordable downtown. Be aware however they are often not metered, so agree a fare in advance. Car and motorbike hire is also available (even a Harley-Davidson), and both offer a great way to explore Cancun if you want flexibility. Some hotels also hire out bikes.
The magical island of Isla Mujeres is a 15-minute ferry ride from Gran Puerto in the Hotel Zone. Create unforgettable memories on your Cancun holiday as you snorkel over sculptures of the underwater museum or swim with dolphins at the Garrafon Natural Reef Park. A real paradise island with crushed-coral beaches and calm turquoise waters. Come sunset, kick back and enjoy the spectacular views from one of Isla Mujeres' elegant beach-side bars.
Cancun is all about sun, sea and sand, but it also boasts immaculately manicured golfing greens with spectacular views over magnificent lakes. Improve your swing at the El Manglar, a spectacular 18 hole course. Or explore El Camaleon Mayakobà - ‘The Chameleon’ - which hosted the first PGA tournament outside the USA and features sand dunes, mangrove jungles and lagoons. If you want to brush up on your skills first then book into the Golf School here too.
Aktun Chen is a nature and adventure park where you can marvel at underground caves crammed with stalagmites and stalactites. Located in lush jungle between Xel-Ha and Akumal Bay, dense canopy and exotic birdsong give this place the feel of a magical lost world. With the safety of a life jacket swim through spectacular fresh water grottos or take a guided quad bike tour of the jungle. The serpentarium displays many poisonous and non-poisonous snakes.
